Why don't more filmmakers use crowdfunding websites like Indiegogo or Kickstarter?

Crowdfunding sites are great because they allow you to reach out directly to potential investors.

But most filmmakers don't think they're qualified to ask for money. They feel they must have someone to speak for them.

Since they haven’t proved themselves yet, they don’t think anyone should make an investment in them.

Instead, they spend months working hard on their project in the hope that someone will notice.

Then, once they finally launch their campaign, they realize they didn't prepare properly.

Instead of receiving thousands of dollars, they receive a few donations.

What happens to my film if it doesn't do well in the box office?

There are many possible outcomes if your film fails to perform at the box offices.

You might want to change the marketing of your film.

Second, you might decide to rework the script.

You might also consider adding new characters.

Fourth, you might decide that some characters should be removed

Fifth, it is possible to decide to end the scene.

Sixth, you might decide that the film wasn't worth making.

Why do so few independent films ever get distributed?

Many indie filmmakers believe that distributors will take their films.

They are certain distributors will take their films, as they know that the public will love them.

But this is rare. Distributors often benefit from independent filmmakers.

They use tactics such as delaying a film's release date until after awards season has ended.

Or they delay the release date of a low-budget film until after the summer blockbuster season has begun.

Distributors also try to keep films away from audiences until they've already spent hundreds of dollars on tickets, popcorn, or candy.

They don't want any of those profits to go to waste.
