Hollywood used to be a magical place. It was home to the most beautiful people and millions of people who bought tickets for their favorite films. However, those studios were not magical. Katzman made other movies such as Rock Around the Clock and Two Blondes and a Redhead.

Lord Arthur Rank

The life of Lord Arthur Rank, movie mogul, is not as glamorous as it may seem. He didn't go on to university. He was a worker in a number of mills, and at 21 he became the head of a large mill. Rank's faith led him to the film industry. The Methodist Times criticized Hollywood in the 1930s for its support of depraved people. Despite his inability to receive formal education, Rank was quick on his feet and made many deals within the industry.

FAQ

What's the difference between a manufacturer and a distributor?

The movie is produced by a producer. The movie is distributed via a distributor. Distributors and theaters are two options for producers to sell their movies. Distributors acquire movies from producers. They then make them available for sale to theaters as well cable channels and streaming services.

Distributors need to negotiate with theater owners about where their movies will play. This means that certain movies might be more expensive at some theaters than others. A distributor should have multiple theaters in order to ensure that your movie is seen by as many people possible.

What's the difference of an indie movie and a foreign-language film?

A single filmmaker usually makes an independent film. He or she makes all the decisions.

However, foreign language films are typically produced by a larger production group.

They often hire actors, authors, and directors who are from other countries.

To ensure the dialogue sounds natural, professional translators are also hired.

How many movies makes Hollywood each year?

Each year, Hollywood studios produce approximately 3,000 films. That's right, three thousand!

Hollywood spends billions advertising these films. They spend millions making them. They also spend millions promoting them. But how many do you think actually end up getting released into theaters?

The answer is most likely between 200 and 300. The question is, what happens to all the other 2,700+ films? Most of them are either released direct-to-video or just sit in storage.

Not all of them will be undiscovered. Some of them have been selected for distribution via Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, iTunes, Google Play, etc.

So why don't we see more of them? They're not available in theaters. They're too costly to produce.

They could also be made cheaper and put into theaters.

This is where I come in. I can help guide you in the best way possible to put your movie in theaters.

I will teach you how to increase your return on investment (ROI), as well as increasing your chances of seeing the movie in theaters.

Let's face it, we all know...

It can be very difficult to get your film in theaters. The process is complex, lengthy and involves many legalities.

It might also cost you a lot before you start.

The time frame in which your film can be distributed is also very limited.

There is simply not enough time between the end of a film and when it goes on its theatrical run.

How much do actors get paid?

The average actor's salary ranges between $1 million and $100,000 depending on whether the film is independent or a movie. Most actors get between $10,000-$20,000 per film. Many actors do not get any compensation. It depends on how successful they are. Some actors are successful and make millions. Others struggle to find work.
