Is Hollywood larger than Bollywood?
Producers face the greatest challenge of making sure their movie is seen by viewers.
Problem is that many movies are competing for people's money and time. The problem is that you will not be seen if you aren't different from the rest.
But what makes a movie great? What makes an actor well-known? Or a director? It's not just talent - it's also luck. It doesn't matter if your actors are the best in the world. But a poor script will make you lose everything.
There are two types of films: independent productions and blockbuster movies with big budgets. Production and distribution of blockbuster movies costs hundreds of millions. These blockbuster movies are usually produced by big studios who want their movies to reach as broad an audience as possible. These big-budget movies appeal to older audiences.
Independent films are generally smaller-scale productions that may be financed by individuals or groups of investors. These films often focus on niche markets and cater to specific tastes. They are generally less costly to produce and market. But, they aren't necessarily cheaper to view. It is actually very difficult to find most indie movies.
We need both types? Do we need big blockbuster movies and small independent ones? Hollywood is much bigger than Bollywood. Hollywood produces nearly twice as many movies annually as India.
How much of the box-office revenue is spent on marketing budgets?
Marketing budgets typically account for between 20% and 40% of a film’s budget. Because marketing is vital to any film's success,

Hollywood studios produce about 3,000 films each year. That's right, three thousand!
Hollywood spends billions advertising these films. They spend millions producing them. They also spend millions on marketing them. But how many end up actually getting seen in the theaters, do you think?
It is likely that the answer is between 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ other films? Many of the films are either directly-to-video released or left to collect dust in storage vaults.
However, not all of them are unavoidable. Some of them have been selected for distribution via Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, iTunes, Google Play, etc.
Hence, why aren't there more of them? Why aren’t they being shown in theaters instead? Because they're too expensive to produce.
They'd also be cheaper to produce and released in theaters.
That's where I come in. I can help guide you in the best way possible to put your movie in theaters.
I will show you how to maximize the return on your investment (ROI), and increase your chances of seeing your film in theaters.
Let's face facts...
It can be very difficult to get your film in theaters. The process can be complex and lengthy.
It could also be costly before you even start.
Even worse, your window of opportunity to distribute your film is very limited.
There is simply not enough time between the end of a film and when it goes on its theatrical run.
Why is it that so few independent films are ever released?
Indie filmmakers tend to assume that distributors will buy their films.
They are certain distributors will take their films, as they know that the public will love them.
But this is rare. Distributors often take advantage of independent filmmakers.
They employ tactics like delaying a movie's release until after awards season has ended.
They also delay the release date for a low-budget film until the summer blockbuster movie season has begun.
Distributors are also trying to keep films off the streets until audiences have already spent hundreds upon thousands of dollars on tickets or popcorn.
They don't wish to lose those profits.
