How to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in 1960 established the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The HWOF, located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard Los Angeles, California. It has 2,711 stars embedded in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Each star is a symbol of someone who contributed to the production of motion pictures, television, radio and theater or other aspects popular culture. There are currently 1,922 living persons listed on the HWOF.
To become a HWOF member, you need to submit a name to Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They then submit your details to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you are approved, you will receive a certificate of eligibility that includes your name, date, residence, occupation, category, and other information. A bronze plaque with your name inscribed on it is also included. This plaque is attached directly to the concrete base, in front of designated stars.
You can apply for a star if a current member of the HWOF nominated you or if you made significant contributions to movies, television, radio, theatre, music, or something else considered part of "popular culture."
