What is the average number of movies Hollywood makes in a year?
Hollywood studios make approximately 3,000 films annually. That's right, 3000!
These films are marketed by Hollywood, which spends billions of dollars. They spend millions making them. They also spend millions promoting them. How many of these movies do you think end up in theaters?
It is likely that the answer is between 200-300. So what happens to all those other 2,700+ films? Most of them are either released direct-to-video or just sit in storage.
Not all of them will be undiscovered. Some of them were selected for distribution via Netflix Prime, Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus, iTunes or Google Play.
Hence, why aren't there more of them? Why aren't they released in theaters? Because they are too expensive to make.
If they were more affordable to produce they would be released into theaters.
I can help. I will help you find the best possible way to release your film in theaters.
I'll show you how to maximize your return on investment (ROI) and increase your chances of seeing your movie in theaters.
Because let's face it...
It can be hard to get your film into the theaters. The process is long, complex and full of legalities.
It can also come at a high cost before you even begin.
It is even more difficult to distribute your film within a limited timeframe.
There is simply not enough time between the end of a film and when it goes on its theatrical run.
Hollywood's fame?
The answer was obvious. They took risks and did something different to make it popular. They were able to make films that would be remembered for many years.
And they also had the courage to experiment with new ideas.
Is Hollywood making more from international sales than domestic?
Yes, but it is only slightly. In 2017, foreign revenues accounted for about 17% of total revenue. Domestic revenues made up 83%.
Over half of the world’s population is found in overseas markets.
This means many people who might never watch a movie at home will still want to see yours.

How To
How to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce established the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. The HWOF is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. It's made up of 2,711 stars, which are embedded in the sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents an individual who contributed to popular culture, such as television, radio or theater. The HWOF currently has 1,922 listed living people.
To become a member of HWOF you will need to submit your name at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. This submits your name then to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once approved, a certificate will be sent to you stating that you are eligible. This includes your name as well as date of birth and the city where you live. You will also receive a bronze plaque engraved with your name. This plaque is attached to a concrete base located in front of the designated Star.
You may apply to be a star if you are nominated by a HWOF member or if you make significant contributions to television, radio, TV, theatre, music or other forms of "popular culture". A committee reviews all the nominations before deciding whether or not they are approved. If they do approve them, they send a note to the home address of the applicant stating their decision. The second letter is sent to the applicant confirming acceptance of the nomination if the person accepts it. The applicant then pays $25 to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce, which forwards the money to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.
The department issues a check payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce, which sends the check to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the application submitted by the artist or organization. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce receives half of the fee ($12.50). The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs takes the other half.
Once the artist receives his/her star he/she will be eligible to be inducted into the HWOF. To be listed on the HWOF, you must pay the remaining balance owed to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due depends on how many years ago you were first nominated. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. For example, if your first nomination was in 1990, you would owe $15,000. However, if it had been in 1980, you would owe 10,000.
To remove yourself from HWOF, contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They will help you pay the remaining debt. They will take care of removing your name from the list permanently.
What age is required to become a HWOF star?
To be nominated, one must be at least 18 years. A person must be present at the time of receiving a star. One can still be nominated after receiving a star after ten years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
Nominating you can be done by family members. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place an honorary marker in front of the star if there are no living relatives.
Why not just have stars on every street?
The HWOF isn't meant to be an historical monument. It is intended to honor all those who have made film history possible.
What happened with the stars that were stolen? The thieves stole approximately 1,200 stars. Each star weighs between 250 and 300 lbs. This makes it approximately 4 tons!
