Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam may be the first band that comes to mind when you think Seattle bands. This grunge rock band formed in the 90s and has been one of its most beloved acts of the decade. Stone Gossard was born in the city, and Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard are its founders. Their songs have been regarded as some of the greatest rock songs of all-time. They have released more than a dozen albums.
Modest Mouse
Modest Mouse is an excellent choice if you are looking for a band that you can listen to while in Seattle. This indie-rock trio was formed by three high school graduates - Green, Brock and Joe Plummer. They were all inspired from the local punk scene. Modest Mouse was originally named to honor the working class. Brock created a sound that was similar to the working people. Their lyrics are a mixture of existential musings. Their music is fuelled by stabbing instruments and lurching beats that create an sonic landscape that is unique to them.
Queens of the Stone Age
Queens of the Stone Age have a long and rich history in the music industry, beginning in the early 1990s. The group's debut album, My Dying Love, was a pop-rock record that received critical acclaim. Afterward, the band branched out into other genres, collaborating with PJ Harvey, Troy Van Leeuwen, and other notable artists. Shneider's departure has made it difficult for the band to find a replacement.
Mother Love Bone
From the late eighties through the early nineties, Seattle, Washington based pop punk band Mother Love Bone were a mainstay in the local music scene. Andrew Wood's charismatic lyrics and charisma helped the band rise to the top of Seattle's music scene. Wood is often credited with some of pop punk's most iconic lyrics.
